Nutrition: It’s simple really….God food for a God body.
Now listen to me when I say, as much as you may think you’re in heaven when you eat that amazing pizza, Mexican food, bag of chips or whatever you put in as your FAVORITE, it is not for your most benevolent good. There are times in life when you can have those things within reason but when you choose this week after week the gut begins to struggle. When the gut struggles then your whole body will struggle. That is where I see most of my clients. The thing is they are not always overweight. Overweight does not necessarily mean really poor health any more than being the perfect weight means you are in good health. A healthy weight without excess fat is important. Carrying extra weight around causes a myriad of issues but that’s for another post.
This post is about nutrition, eating foods that are living for LIFE.
Maybe you have heard of eating the rainbow. That is a great way to think of it. So, let’s find some suggestions here:
Red: Apples, Bell Peppers, Strawberries, Raspberries, Tomatoes, Watermelon, Cherries
These are all packed full of Vitamin C and can be a great benefit to all diets.
Orange: Pumpkin, Carrots, Sweet Potatoes, Mangoes, Apricots, Peaches and of course, Oranges.
Packed full of beta carotene these are rich in their goodness for healthy eyes.
Yellow: Peppers, Squash, Bananas, Pineapple.
The incredible enzymes of these foods bring the great sunshine to our table.
Green: Kale, Spinach, Lettuces, Avocado, Asparagus, Green Beans, the list goes on for this category.
Getting greens in your daily diet will help with that healthy gut and scrub those veins clean to help keep cholesterol numbers balanced.
Blue: Blueberries, grapes, gogi berries (although they fit a little more in the red category), blackberries, currants.
These foods are good for heart health, decrease cancer possibilities and Type 2 Diabetes and they taste AMAZING!
Purple: Plums, Grapes, Cabbage, Purple potatoes, Purple Carrots, Beets.
Your thyroid will thank you for these rich nutrient dense foods.
So we’ve come to the end of our foundation series. I’ll talk more about these as time goes on. I hope you found this as a good starting point to begin considering what foundations are weak for your body. Now take the information into implementation and do something about it.
