The ability to remember enables us to have lessons from our past, bring joy, dreams, happiness and of course, sadness. As we place our intentional focus on goodness, gratitude, God’s faithfulness and growing we can then move forward with a sense of purpose. Our minds were designed to REMEMBER!
Exclaiming Joy in times of Trial
Psalm 30:11 – You have turned my mourning into joyful dancing. You have taken away my clothes of mourning and clothed me with joy.
Many people throughout the Bible have dealt with difficult times while the lesson was made to trust in Him and find Joy in the situation.
Joshua used stones to help God’s people remember His timing and love. After traversing the wilderness for many years, God spoke to the Israelites and rolled back the waters of the Jordan River, enabling them to cross over and take the Promised Land as their own. Joshua then told them to build a memorial of stones to remind them of what God had done for them. These stones would remind them to keep seeking joy even in the difficult times (Joshua chapters 3 &4).
When you are going through a difficult time in your life, it feels like you have been wandering around the desert for many years lost and alone, like the Israelites; remember that you can find joy in your season. Finding a stone of remembrance within your own life of a past instance when your faith was tried, can help you in the season you are in currently. Remembering to look back on the times when God answered your prayers can help you in moving forward in your life.
What is an example of a trying time you have gone through and the praise that came from it? Is there a physical item that you associate with that time? On difficult days, look at that item and remember the previous times that your prayers have been answered.
How can Joy Change our Lives
Having an attitude of gratitude can impact your life in all the best ways. Being thankful for where you are and the season you are in will change your perspective on your life. Keeping an understanding that your life will go well even if your current prayer isn’t answered in the way you wanted it will help you in finding joy in every situation.
Oils for Everyday Living
Joy is a powerful oil that has a combination of Ylang Ylang, Geranium, Jasmine, Palmarosa, Rose, Bergamot, Lemon, and Tangerine; Ylang Ylang being the most prevalent.
Ylang Ylang has many powerful benefits like, boosting your mood, reducing depression, lowering blood pressure, and repelling insects. It can also assist in treating ailments like headache, rheumatism, and stomach pain.
Ylang Ylang is a great tool for alleviating anxiety and raising self-esteem, positively affecting blood pressure, providing antifungal and anti-inflammatory properties, and can even be used to help reduce asthma symptoms.
